Self Directed Brief - Research on ideas

1) Stop motion in a large scale form

Want to try out using stop motion technique in creating a interesting MV which involves something in large scale format.

Stop motion (or frame-by-frame) is an animation technique to make a physically manipulated object appear to move on its own. The object is moved in small amounts between individually photographed frames, creating the illusion of movement when the series of frames are played as a continuous sequence. Clay figures are often used in stop motion animations, known as claymation, for their ease of repositioning.

2) A motion graphics that plays around in 3D space

While doing the posthuman project, I have experimented some cool ways of making animation in 3D space with lightings in After Effects. I would probably try out something more in creating special effect in 3D space in After Effects for the self directed brief.

3) A trailer for an animation in Japanese style

4) A flash game design

5) A MV with special effects done in After Effects

Blood cells animation research

I'm trying to create a look and feel inside the human body, exploring in 3D space of the blood cells activity. So here are some computer generated effects of blood.

These videos are not related to the topic I'm doing for the posthuman project. However, just find them interesting and want to share with you guys. Enjoy :)

Project 1: Posthuman research #2

As Troy suggested, I have looked into some of the movies that are related to posthuman and cell-manipulation stuff.

Project 1: Posthuman research #1

I have done some research on the definition of the word 'posthuman', and then what came out to my mind is the cell manipulation and experiment. Recently, Barack Obama, the president of the United States of America, just announced his stem cell policy which allowing embryonic stem cell research in America.

As we all aware that scientists in the world are trying to make human 'more than human', which they are trying all kinds of method to change the current human state. Pills have been invented to try to cure deadly diseases, pills which are used to provide extra energy and power to human beings and operations to change the human structures. Cell manipulation and experiment is one way which scientists try to create a more powerful and stronger human.
